WASHINGTON, Nov. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a Republican presidential candidate, will outline a national security strategy that involves rebuilding the U.S. military, "reinvigorating" diplomatic alliances and renewing a commitment to "fundamental Western values" in a speech at the National Press Club at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
The event, sponsored by the Club's Speakers Committee, is slated to follow the format of a Club luncheon, but lunch will not be served. Held in the First Amendment Lounge, the speech will begin promptly at noon. Kasich's remarks will be followed by a question-and-answer session, and the event will conclude at 1 p.m.
Kasich will appear at the Club, as presidential candidates are responding to the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris. Re-elected to a second term as Ohio governor last year, Kasich is a former chairman of the House Budget Committee and a former member of the House Armed Services Committee.
