On August 31st, 2016, Bloomberg reported that Royal Dutch Shell's Forcados pipeline in Nigeria will resume deliveries in September. In February, Shell declared force majeure -- a legal clause that allows it to stop shipments without breaching contracts -- after militants blew up a line feeding the Forcados terminal, which typically exports about 200,000 barrels a day. Statoil  

On Thursday, shares in Stavanger, Norway headquartered Statoil ASA recorded a trading volume of 2.01 million shares. The stock ended the session 0.46% higher at $15.18. The Company's shares have advanced 13.57% since the start of this year. The stock is trading 0.85% above its 200-day moving average. Moreover, shares of Statoil, which explores, produces, transports, refines, and markets petroleum and petroleum-derived products, and other forms of energy in Norway and internationally, have an RSI of 37.10.

On September 9th, 2016, Statoil and Statkraft signed a letter of intent that Statoil takes over as operator of the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm from January 2017. Statoil will also, through this deal, increase its share in the Dogger Bank projects. Sheringham Shoal is one of the world's 10 largest producing offshore wind farms providing renewable energy to up to 220,000 UK homes. Located off the coast of Norfolk, it has been in operation since 2012 and has a capacity of 317 MW.

On September 9th, 2016, Total E&P USA announced that it is exercising its preemption right to acquire Chesapeake's 75% interests in the jointly held Barnett Shale operating area located in North Texas. Total E&P USA has owned the remaining 25% in the Barnett Assets since December 2009. Under the terms of the transaction, Chesapeake will pay $334 million to Williams, the gatherer and processer of 80% of the gas from the Barnett Assets, to terminate its gathering agreement.
