OIS AeroSpace at Farnborough International AirShow 2014, announces the availability of its next generation simulator development platform for cockpit simulators for fixed and rotary wing aircraft. This allows for integration and testing of real-time avionics hardware as part of the cockpit simulation environment.

This specifically permits the creation of new cockpit simulators. It also permits the testing and integration of diverse avionics from different suppliers that interact with the aircraft cockpit display system. It allows these units to be tested in a real-time simulation environment , and prior to its integration and installation in the aircraft, resulting in significant savings.

This platform is customizable for a variety of uses for Aviation majors and Tier 1 OEMs in order to rapidly develop, prototype and test a cockpit and other avionics environments that they envision for their present and future cockpit environments. This software platform is integrated with large multi-screen display environment of a simulator, and which allows for real-time integration of various hardware avionics modules that need to be tested. Real-time hardware-in-loop testing is a key benefit of using this cockpit simulator environment.

This next generation simulator development platform specifically permits the creation of new cockpit simulators, while allowing the testing and integration of diverse avionics from different suppliers that interact with the aircraft cockpit display system. It also permits these units to be tested in a real-time simulation environment, prior to its integration and installation in the aircraft, resulting in significant savings.

The availability of this platform in India is likely to provide opportunities to Aircraft majors, and their Tier 1 OEM suppliers for work packages to help satisfy their defence offset obligations in India.
