Oklahoma City Rockwell Ave. Schlotzsky's Restaurant Notice of Payment Card Security Incident

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Schlotzsky's Stores LLC ("Schlotzsky's") announced today that it has identified a payment card security incident that affected one corporate owned Schlotzsky's restaurant located at 8425 N. Rockwell Ave., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73132.

Upon learning of the incident, Schlotzsky's immediately began an investigation. The investigation identified the operation of malware designed to access payment card data from cards used on a point-of-sale (POS) device at the one Schlotzsky's restaurant. The malware searched for track data (which includes the card number, expiration date, internal verification code, and sometimes cardholder name) read from the magnetic stripe of a payment card as it was being routed through the POS device. The malware may have been capable of accessing data from payment cards used at this location during the timeframe of April 4, 2018 to June 26, 2018.

This site also contains information regarding steps that customers can take to help protect their payment card information.

It is always advisable for customers to remain vigilant to the possibility of fraud by reviewing their payment card account statements for any unauthorized activity. Customers should immediately report any unauthorized charges to their card issuer because payment card network rules generally provide that cardholders are not responsible for unauthorized charges reported in a timely manner. The affected POS device was removed from the restaurant and steps are being taken to enhance measures for securing payment card data. In addition, Schlotzsky's is working closely with the payment card networks regarding this matter so that the banks that issue payment cards are made aware.
