The local news source for five Dallas neighborhoods is a major sponsor, along with Dr. Todd Ayars, DDS PA; Grand Bank of Texas; David Griffin & Company; Kessler Pediatrics; Methodist Dallas Medical Center; Kay Wood, Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty; Oak Cliff Children's Dentist; and Realtor Jenni Stolarski.
RECPTA was started back in 1926 with a mission to enrich the educational experiences of Oak Cliff schoolchildren by providing them with opportunities to sing, dance, create and get involved in the arts beyond the classroom. Money raised from this April 1st event, along with other smaller fundraisers held throughout the school year, allows Rosemont schools to be involved with the Dallas Children's Theater Artist-In-Residence program as well as underwrites supplies for all fine arts classes and provides musical instruments and equipment for orchestras and choirs. Dance costumes, shoes, stage enhancements and library books are also purchased with charitable donations.
"The performing arts play a vital role in developing our students' capacities for critical thinking, creativity, imagination and innovation," said Brooke Price, vice president of fundraising for RECPTA. "With your support, we can not only raise but exceed our $50,000 goal to enrich the lives of some 1,200 Rosemont students."
