Onancock Elks to Start Fresh Produce Project
CHICAGO, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With some help from the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Onancock Elks will provide fresh produce to families that are clients of the Foodbank on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Each family will receive 5 pounds of fresh produce each month. Elks will deliver each basket of produce.
Fresh Produce Project will be funded by an Impact Grant awarded to the Onancock Elks by the Elks National Foundation. Impact Grants are the newest addition to the Elks National Foundation's Community Investments Program. They are competitive grants designed to help Elks make a difference in their community. This year, Onancock Elks Lodge No. 1766 is one of 49 recipients nationwide to receive an Impact Grant. The grants range from $2,500 to $10,000.
