"For too long, the conversation about gun violence in America has been controlled by those who stand to profit from easy access to guns. In the meantime, American families continue to be destroyed by gun violence," said Shannon Watts, founder of One Million Moms for Gun Control. "Mothers have had enough, and we will no longer stand by and let Congress turn its back on sensible gun laws."
"Moms Demand Action Week" will include daily outreach to Congressional representatives in their hometowns. Moms are asked to start making local appointments now for the week of Feb. 18 with their Congressional representatives or their staff. Updates on calls-to-action and events will be provided daily on the home page of the One Million Moms for Gun Control website, onemillionmomsforguncontrol.org, during "Moms Demand Action Week" starting Mon., Feb. 18.
