BIRMINGHAM, Mich., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Shore Mortgage President, Robert Rahal, today announced the company's first film competition that will award $3000 to each of three category winners selected by "celebrity" judges and an additional $3000 viewers' choice award voted upon by the general public on the Shore Mortgage website.

"Because home ownership is so important to us, as mortgage originators, and to the public at large, we want to focus on the emotions, the creativity, the heartfelt communication of the potential and current home owner publics. It is with great pleasure that we offer our filmmakers' competition to draw out that interactive, fun commentary on life in 2010. As all the rules outline, we are looking for three-minute DVD or MiniDVs that will best describe the applicant's feelings toward owning a home," said Rahal.

The "Show Us Your Shore" competition calls for MAILED entries beginning May 3rd and continuing through June 14th. The following categories will be awarded a $3000 prize to be used toward rent/mortgage housing payments. A "Viewers' Choice" prize of $3,000, also to be used for housing payment, will be chosen by popular vote hosted by the Shore Mortgage website, www.shoremortgage.com. CATEGORIES:

• Coming ashore – category for those who do not currently own their own home but dream of home ownership. Criteria – find a creative way to use emotion or humor to show the why of wanting to own a home and how owning a home would improve the applicant's life.

• Show Us Your Shore – category focuses on owning a home, what makes it a "home" and what it means to be a homeowner.

• Shore family reunion – category – encourages Shore Mortgage clients to show how the company and its people made housing dreams come true, how Shore, in a heartwarming, funny or exciting way, has helped put a roof over the head of couples and families.

The judging will be conducted by "celebrity" judges from the film, financial and mortgage community including Lisa Zahodne, President and COO, Specs Howard School of Media Arts; Jim Wang, founder and editor of Bargaineering.com, a personal finance blog; Jo-Allison Floyd, Account Executive, Grace & Wild and former television news producer; Anonymous Blog, Free Money Finance, founder and editor.

Submission process: Participants must be 18 and up. After reading official rules and creating the original video, participants must MAIL completed submission form, waivers/releases for EACH person in the video and DVD or miniDV of the entry to:
