One of the Oldest Independent Retailers in Nuneaton, Haswell Shoes is Bought by Local Business Man

Local business man, Matt Gardner has acquired Haswell Shoes, ensuring that all staff retain their jobs and continuing a traditional independent business which has served Nuneaton for nearly 70 years.

Haswell Shoes was founded in 1947, when Albert Haswell decided to stop repairing soldier's boots following the end of WWII and set-up shop in Newdegate Street, Nuneaton.  Over time Albert retired passing on the business to his son, Trevor.  On his retirement he sold the business to long-time employee Karen Little.  When Mrs Little was set to retire at the end of January 2015, this highly regarded local business was set to close its doors for the final time.  

However, Mr Gardner stepped in and acquired the business, ensuring it continued to serve Nuneaton and the local area for the foreseeable future.
