SAN DIEGO, Sept. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- OneRoof Energy, Inc., a residential solar services provider and wholly owned subsidiary of OneRoof Energy Group, Inc. (TSXV:ON), will host SunFest!, a family fun day at San Diego's Balboa Park (next to the Hall of Champions) on Saturday, Sept. 20, from noon to 4 p.m. PT. The event is a part of OneRoof Energy's larger commitment to educate San Diegans about the value of energy efficient resources, including solar energy, in reducing our global carbon footprint. David Field, President and CEO, OneRoof Energy, and Jose Gonzalez, Development and Communications Manager, San Diego Youth Services, will kick-off the event with opening remarks at 12:30 p.m. The event will feature a collection of community booths and a series of environmental education sessions for attendees. Additional event activities include live music, food trucks and a beer and wine garden for adults over the age of 21. Children and families can participate in an arts and crafts activity that transforms recycled items into treasures and enjoy the photo booth, face painting and organized games.
To further educate San Diegans on solar energy resources, OneRoof Energy representatives will host a series of brief 15-minute environmental education sessions throughout the afternoon, discussing the basics of solar for homeowners, including solar equipment, solar financing and tax rebates and incentives.
Since 1970, the San Diego Youth Services has helped to improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of homeless, runaway, abused and at-risk youth in the San Diego area. SunFest! attendees are invited to support the San Diego Youth Services by bringing an item for donation. Sample wish-list items include the following: bus passes, gift cards, phone cards, art supplies (paint, brushes, canvas, clay, markets, notebooks), hygiene products (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products), baby and children's clothing and shoes, diapers, blankets, sheets for twin or full beds, pillows, towels, furniture, strollers, car and booster seats, and kitchen supplies (pots, cooking utensils).
