CHICAGO, May 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- When deciding on a school and area of study, it's important for students to choose something they enjoy and are passionate about. Although many parents dislike the idea of it, a lot of times video games are a huge interest in what is traditionally thought of as the college age group. However, the gaming industry is huge, and incorporating gaming or eSports into the college experience can be an exciting perk for students.
League of Legends, in particular, has a huge following worldwide and has even contributed to eSports becoming recognized as a Varsity Sport at Robert Morris University in Chicago. California is represented by three schools in this ranking, University of California, Irvine (7), University of California, Los Angeles (13), and California State University, Fullerton (19).
Chicago, Illinois is represented by both Robert Morris University (1), and University of Chicago (12).
Two schools from Georgia are recognized, Georgia Tech (2) in Atlanta, and University of Georgia (18) in Athens.
Texas ranks two schools as well, University of Texas (5) and Texas A&M University (6).
Boston University (16) and Harvard University (20) both represent Massachusetts in the ranking.
