RICHARDSON, Texas, March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- VCE today announced that OnX Enterprise Solutions, one of North America's largest independent infrastructure providers, has deployed Vblock™ Infrastructure Platforms in two sites as the foundation of its third generation cloud services expansion to service its growing client base. Within just four months from receipt to production, OnX was able to execute on its Vblock platform-based cloud strategy, enabling revenue-generating activities sooner than anticipated.
OnX provides a wide variety of professional and infrastructure services as well as cloud and managed services. The company, with customers in North America and Europe, recognized that a true enterprise class multi-tenant cloud environment would be a natural extension to the dedicated private cloud computing environments they have been deploying into client's data centers for years. To be successful, OnX needed an infrastructure with the flexibility to handle unpredictable end-user demand as well as an open, standardized platform able to deploy into additional points of presence as the company rapidly expands. After looking at several different vendors, OnX selected VCE as the foundation of its new offering.
Vblock Infrastructure Platforms bring together leading computing, networking, storage, virtualization, security and management technologies from Cisco, EMC and VMware. To support its new offering, OnX deployed Vblock Series 300GX Infrastructure Platforms in two sites, with business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities, to enable rapid deployment of a range of cloud solutions it offers to clients.
