OPEIU Local 29 Members Reject offer from Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld
OAKLAND, Calif., Dec. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After four contract negotiation sessions, spokesperson Caren P. Sencer, attorney for Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld, presented to the OPEIU Local 29 negotiating team their last best and final offer. A vote was conducted of the membership and they overwhelmingly rejected the last best and final offer.
OPEIU contacted Federal Mediation to facilitate Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld to return to the bargaining table, according to OPEIU Local 29 President/Business Manager Tamara Rubyn. A date has been scheduled in January to resume bargaining. Meanwhile OPEIU members are working without a contract. Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld refused to sign an extension agreement prior to the expiration date of the contract.
