Open Source Storage Announces the Open Cluster Cloud Series
New Data Storage Solution Meets Enterprise-Level Requirements for Virtual Servers, Cloud-Based Services, Big Data Applications and High Performance Computing
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Open Source Storage (OSS), the visionaries and creators of enterprise data storage solutions, today released the Open Cluster Cloud Series, the latest addition to OSS's line up of data storage solutions built on open source software and open standard components. An enterprise-class data storage solution designed for virtual servers, cloud-based services, higher performance computing and big data analysis, the Open Cluster Cloud Series offers immense scalability at a 30% lower cost than typical cloud infrastructure.
Available in preconfigured clusters or a custom build, the Cloud Series features OSS's N1.618 Plug and Play Middleware, which allows companies to mount OSS storage solutions to existing data storage and integrate with existing file storage systems. As an open source solution, the Cloud Series has no annual licensing fees.
"The Open Cluster Cloud Series is designed specifically for enterprises that provide cloud services or wish to leverage cloud technology in their own datacenters," said Eren Niazi, CEO of Open Source Storage. "Open source technology and open standard components significantly lower the total costs of ownership while delivering greater scalability and performance than proprietary solutions."
Available in two pre-configured options—the two-node R8000 and four-node R8100—the Cloud Series can expand out to 72 brontobytes. The solution supports open source virtualization technologies and features centralized management for both data storage and VM pools. The Cloud Series also includes a global namespace, elastic volume manager and data redundancy through automated replication.
Built to handle the most sophisticated and high demand enterprise use cases, the Cloud Series is ideal for virtual servers, web-based services (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS), big data applications and high performance computing with data management abilities suitable for government, academic and commercial purposes.
The Cloud Series includes a standard 3-year warranty covering parts and labor. Remote support services are also available.
