ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Operation Homefront and Bellisio Foods have teamed up to assist service members across the nation. Through the partnership, Bellisio Foods will provide Operation Homefront with $100,000 to assist military families through food and emergency assistance, as well as other services.
"Providing emergency financial assistance for basic needs, such as food, is such an important thing to provide to our nation's military and the families that sacrifice so much through their service," said Tim Farrell, Operation Homefront Chief Operating Officer. "Through our partnership with Bellisio Foods, we will now be able to open up our services to many more families, and it comes at a great time as we enter into the holiday season."
On Nov. 9, 2013, the partnership kicked off in a big way when Bellisio Foods and Operation Homefront provided an experience of a lifetime for a military family.
Jaime and Jessica Fife both served in the military. Jaime enlisted in the Navy and served for 10-years deploying on the ground to Turkey and Afghanistan, and deployed twice aboard USS Ronald Reagan in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Jessica served for six years with the National Guard, where she assisted others as a combat medic.
The couple, as well as their two children, were invited as the "Military Family of the Game" for the University of Minnesota military appreciation football game. While being honored on the field, the family was informed that they were selected to receive a mortgage-free home through Operation Homefront's Homes on the Homefront program in Woodbury, Minn.
"Bellisio Foods is honored to be partnering with Operation Homefront supporting the great initiatives that help the brave men and women in the US military" said Joel Conner, Chairman and CEO of Bellisio Foods.
