Optoro's Robert Latchford receives CFO of the Year Award from Tech Council of Maryland
Optoro's CFO takes home prestigious award after a successful year that included a $35m raise and an office expansion
WASHINGTON, May 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Tech Council of Maryland last week announced that CFO Robert Latchford of Optoro was named CFO of the Year at the organization's annual Industry Awards Celebration in Bethesda, MD. The awards dinner recognizes the leaders and innovators in the technology and life science communities from Maryland and the surrounding regions. The evening brings over 900 technology, life science, government, academia, and supporting businesses together at one place, at one time for Maryland's best night of networking. It is Maryland's largest and most prestigious award ceremony of its kind.

Optoro is an IT company based in Lanham, Md., that enables retailers and manufacturers to increase revenue from returned and excess inventory. The company was named to Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 last fall. As the CFO, Latchford was instrumental in getting two VC fundings completed for a total of $32 million, as well as closing on a $7 million debt facility, all within his first nine months on the job. He also helped close the lease that enabled the company expand to Washington, D.C. and he managed the company's growth from more than 60 employees when he started to more than 140 today. Latchford also coordinated Optoro's involvement with Defending the Blue Line, a charity that works to provide hockey equipment to children of military families.
