TROY, Mich., Feb. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Students from Cody High School Medicine & Community Health Academy saw what it's like to be real estate attorneys, managers and network engineers for the day when Orlans Associates, P.C. and eTitle Agency, Inc. hosted the students for the National Groundhog Job Shadow Day February 2, 2012.

National Groundhog Job Shadow Day is coordinated locally by the United Way for Southeastern Michigan and Junior Achievement. The program helps high school students gain greater understanding about the skills and education required for a myriad of careers.

The Cody students not only saw a day in the life of an attorney and how IT helps companies run, they got some insight into how to buy a home, and what the "title" part of eTitle really means. In addition, they took a tour of the headquarters and practiced their networking, interview skills and the correct way to build a resume and write a cover letter.

They were one of 14 groups of students from United Way Turnaround schools shadowing employees at 15 Metro Detroit companies. 

Founded by Linda Orlans, Orlans Associates and eTitle often collaborate on projects for Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan, where Orlans serves on the Advisory Board.  "Job Shadow Day is an important initiative for our community, and we're proud to be one of the 15 companies participating this year," Linda Orlans said.
