Osler Health and Horizon BCBSNJ to Reduce Cost, Increase Quality
HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J., Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- JerseyCare IPA, a subsidiary of Osler Health IPA, a primary care physician centered, physician owned and managed health network, has contracted with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ) to provide a new model of integrated care to Horizon BCBSNJ members. Services become available October 1, 2014, starting in Northern New Jersey.
JerseyCare is a next generation physician network designed to provide superior quality care and services at substantially lower cost by working as a coordinated team, empowered in new ways by Osler's proprietary shared population health platform, MDclick. All physicians and other providers in the Osler network use MDclick's communication, analytics and support services to restore, improve and maintain patients' health and quality of life in new and highly effective ways. Osler's next generation health care delivery system consistently provides superior quality of care, outcomes and patient services while spending well over a third less to do so. Patients also benefit directly with lower out of pocket costs.
"We at Osler Health view our partnership with Horizon as the promise of a new standard of health care delivery that represents a major step forward for the health and financial benefit of our patients," said Thomas S. Bellavia, M.D., Osler Health IPA's president and CEO.
"Our proprietary technology and techniques are specifically designed to enable and compensate physicians to make and keep people well, not only for treating them when they are not," Bellavia continued.
"We look forward to collaborating with Osler Health to help deliver more coordinated care to drive improved health outcomes and a better patient experience for our members," said Jim Albano, Vice President of Network Management and Horizon Healthcare Innovations at Horizon BCBSNJ.
