OSSIC 3D Audio Surpasses Kickstarter Goal For Headphone Launch, Raising Over $100K In Less Than 3 Hours

LA JOLLA, Calif., Feb. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Earlier today, San Diego based OSSIC Corporation launched the OSSIC X 3D Audio Headphones on Kickstarter to an astounding reception, raising just over $100K in the first few hours of launch. The project is on track to break $350,000 before the end of the day.

The OSSIC X is the world's first 3D audio headphone that instantly calibrates to the listener, increasing the sense of auditory space, and acoustically recreating the way the everyday world is heard. By pairing advanced 3D audio algorithms with head-tracking and individual anatomy calibration, OSSIC X headphones deliver incredibly accurate 3D sound.

With traditional headphone technology, the listeners' anatomy (HRTF) is not taken into account. This makes for an incredibly small listening experience, where sound remains close to the head rather than all around. OSSIC X solves this by calibrating to the individual's anatomy, therefore enabling personalized audio playback that sounds just as it does in real life.

Early supporters of the OSSIC Kickstarter can expect to receive discounts between 30%-40% off the expected retail price of $399, as well as be some of the first to get their hands on the headphones when they are released later in the year.

The companies will work together to ensure that the OSSIC X headphones will meet the highest standard for audio reproduction.
