Our Towns Habitat for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity of Iredell County Announce Plans to Strengthen Impact on Communities by Joining Forces
CORNELIUS, N.C., Oct. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Our Towns Habitat for Humanity seeks to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. In an effort to serve more families in need and extend its current communities served (Mooresville, Davidson, Huntersville and Cornelius), Our Towns Habitat for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity of Iredell County voted to consolidate the two affiliates through an acquisition by Our Towns Habitat for Humanity.
Jeff Porter, the former Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity Iredell has been named the new leader of the combined organizations. His responsibilities begin immediately. The new tagline: "Building Homes, Communities and Hope in North Mecklenburg and Iredell County" defines the geographic areas served. The boards of the two organizations will join and operate as one board and oversee the organization's operations. The new organization will acquire the operation of the Restore retail store in Statesville and operate a total of three stores in Cornelius, Mooresville and Statesville.
"Our intention is to leverage the resources of both affiliates to build an even stronger presence across Iredell and Northern Mecklenburg counties," states Bob Dunlap, board president, Our Towns Habitat for Humanity. "Our Towns Habitat for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity of Iredell County are both excited to announce plans to supporters, volunteers, community leaders and families in need within their communities."
