Pacific Nissan Partners With Famed Amputee Athlete Emmanuel Yeboah On His Journey From San Diego to Sacramento to Raise $2 Million
Pacific Nissan will host the kick-off event at their dealership on Friday November 6th, 2015
SAN DIEGO, Nov. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Pacific Nissan, a local dealership in Pacific Beach, California, will host a kick-off celebration for Emmanuel Yeboah, a world renowned physically challenged international athlete.
Emmanuel will be starting his journey from Pacific Nissan this Friday November 6th and ending at the UC Davis, University of California in Sacramento on November 20th. The dealership is extending an open invite to the community to come cheer on Emmanuel before he parts ways to cycle 735.6 miles in effort to raise $2 million to build a school in Africa for students and staff with disabilities. Pacific Nissan will be providing food and fun for the whole family from 10am to 12pm before seeing Emanuel off on his 15 day cycle journey.
Emmanuel was born with one leg in Ghana, Africa where people born with physical disabilities were shunned or poisoned, unable to enroll in school and deemed a curse leaving them unemployable. Emmanuel became determined to prove the world wrong and cycled across Africa to raise awareness, inspiring millions and catching the attention of many celebrities, politicians and public figures.
Oprah Winfrey was among the many supporters, she narrated Emmanuel's Gift, a documentary following Emmanuel's journey and dream to change the world. Emmanuel's movement has lead the way to get national legislation passed for people with disabilities. Now Emmanuel is filming his second documentary while cycling from San Diego to Sacramento.
