"Growing up in a small rural Canadian town in the late seventies and early eighties with young parents struggling to find their way, I spent much of my time alone, and the only access to art I had was comic books. I would spend hours trying to redraw these characters. Deconstructive/Constructive is my tribute to comic book art, my first love and inspiration. I believe that each person has their own unique gift to offer the world. I was very fortunate that my family was supportive and provided me with the encouragement and tools I needed to develop my gift. Unfortunately in life those gifts can be stifled simply by lack of opportunity for many children. Free Arts NYC gives the children of NYC hope through access to supplies, programs and artists and I am proud to do my part and participate with this wonderful charity." -- Jason Dussault, Artist
"Free Arts NYC is honored to be chosen by Jason Dussault as the charitable beneficiary of this show. The funds raised through this partnership will help us provide the children and families who participate in our programs with access to the arts. We thank Jason for his generosity and his support of Free Arts NYC." -- Liz Hopfan, Founder & Executive Director, Free Arts NYC
