Padis Jewelry Director Wins Prestigious Women's Jewelry Association Award for Excellence in Independent Retail
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2017 Women's Jewelry Association (WJA) Awards for Excellence Gala honored industry leader, Alexis Padis, of Padis Jewelry, in the Independent Retail category. The event was held at Pier 60 in New York City, hosted over 500 attendees, and inducted three industry leaders into its WJA Hall of Fame, while raising nearly $30,000 for the WJA Foundation's 2018 scholarship and grant program.
"The Awards for Excellence Gala gives us a chance to honor the leaders in the jewelry industry whose careers and personal efforts support the Women's Jewelry Association mission to help women in the jewelry and watch industries advance and develop professionally," said WJA President Brandee Dallow.
Alexis Padis holds a Board position with The American Gem Society, is in fact AGS' youngest Board member, and was in the company of only 6 other nominees from this prestigious institution for the WJA Awards for Excellence. Of note, only 5% of jewelers in the country maintain business practices of such high ethical standards to become and remain members of AGS. Being a member of AGS means that clients are guaranteed that their purchases strictly adhere to the highest standards of measurement and quality. To that end, Alexis is an AGS Certified Gemologist Appraiser, as well as a GIA Graduate Gemologist, and takes great pride in both purchasing and evaluating the jewelry sold at Padis Jewelry. She aims to continue to make Padis Jewelry a vibrant and growing business for San Francisco engagement rings and San Francisco wedding rings.
Daughter of Padis Jewelry's founders Steve and Judy Padis, Alexis Padis is following in her parents' footsteps to continue innovating within the family's business. She leads the Marketing and Operations for Padis Jewelry, and represents the brand at top-tier industry events such as JCK and Conclave.
The goal of the WJA is to be the premier business networking organization dedicated to enriching and advancing the professional lives of the women in the jewelry and watch industries.
"The Women's Jewelry Association and the WJA Foundation are deeply committed to providing support for women in the jewelry trade. The generosity of our community of donors and sponsors enables us to improve the industry by providing access and opportunities for women at all stages of their careers," said WJA executive director Bernadette Mack.
