LAS VEGAS, Aug. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On August 24, 2,400 students will take a few steps from the breakfast table to their computers at home to log in for their first day of school through Nevada Virtual Academy (NVVA), a full-time, statewide, online public charter school for students in grades K-12. At NVVA, innovative technology combined with a strong partnership between families and teachers makes it possible to focus on each student's unique academic needs and gives a growing number of Nevada students a powerful educational option to reach their true potential.
Caroline McIntosh, Head of School for Nevada Virtual Academy said, "The start of a new school year is always exciting for students and families. For our staff and teachers, knowing that we can provide an educational support system that challenges our students to be their very best makes each year even more special."
Students who enroll at Nevada Virtual Academy follow an academic program that includes engaging web-based lessons along with age-appropriate instructional materials – books, videos, CDs and other hands-on tools and resources – all of which are shipped directly to each student's home. Nevada Virtual Academy teachers provide instruction, guidance and support, and regular interaction with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings.
