Pastor Norman Quintero is a Man With a True Call to Serve as Reported by Carlos Diaz of NQR, CORP
In an era when many pastors have a poor reputation of gaining wealth off their parishioners, Carlos Diaz found Iglesia Getsemani's Pastor Norman Quintero to be a man of honor and service to his church.
TUSTIN, Calif., Sept. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Carlos Diaz, of NQR, CORP, recently completed research on televangelist Pastor Norman Quintero of Iglesia Getsemani in Tustin, California. Diaz wanted to explore the reputation of Pastor Quintero and the kind of work accomplished at the church. Diaz chose to represent himself as a homeless man upon first meeting Pastor Quintero, and then later explored the pastor's background and all the church offered including experiences by parishioners.

At first meeting, Pastor Quintero greeted Diaz at the church door and welcomed him with a hug and invited him inside. The next morning, Diaz witnessed Pastor Quintero's incredibly motivational sermon inviting all to believe in themselves. When the service was over, Pastor Quintero approached Diaz and asked about his needs. Pastor Quintero took Diaz to the pantry room and prompted him to take whatever he needed. It was explained that the food in the pantry comes from the Orange County Action Partnership Food Bank and Sprouts Supermarket.
Diaz returned the following Sunday, and Pastor Quintero invited Diaz into his office. Diaz noted the many diplomas from the Universidad de Puerto Rico and Texas A&M as well as certificates of recognition from Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama, the United States Congress, the City of Dallas, Texas, the OC Alzheimer Association, and more. After being asked why he did not refer to himself as doctor, a distinction he had earned, Pastor Quintero noted, "Please call me Pastor, this is the title that came from the Lord, all those diplomas and recognitions are for the glory of His name, not mine."
Diaz further learned that Pastor Quintero was on television each day and that his church offered many programs to the community including free meals, a food pantry, free legal counseling by local licensed lawyers, free immigration assistance, and pastoral counseling, among many other services. When Diaz inquired who paid for everything, Pastor Quintero noted that it was covered by parishioners' offerings and tithes as well as the financial contributions from he and his wife Gloria. Pastor Quintero also noted that while he did not get paid by the church, he worked primarily as a real estate broker in California and Florida. He noted he is a full time student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where he is finishing his doctorate in psychology.
Pastor Quintero explained to Diaz that he works hard to help his parishioners unleash their potential to achieve everything that God has in store for them. He described his parishioners as humble people who are trying hard to succeed where the biggest obstacle is cultural beliefs, and many carry scars of what they have experienced in their past. Pastor Quintero disclosed that in the upcoming weeks, youth at the church will have a two-night camping trip at his ranch where he will be conducting workshops targeted to provide the necessary tools to succeed.
After several more visits to his church, Diaz found that in each service Pastor Quintero's message of empowering in the name of Jesus was a combination of the gospel with psychology, provided in a very basic language, and impacted many members of the congregation. Diaz believes that Pastor Quintero has proven to be authentic and a committed pastor.
After talking to several members of the church, Diaz found that all of them had only words of praise for Pastor Quintero and his mission to help everyone. When the members were pressed to provide specific areas where he has helped, the answers ranged from their marriages, finances, school, illness, loneliness, finding a job, their children, getting back on their feet, among other. One of his parishioners, Renal, a 21-year-old male, disclosed that he was living on the streets, and Pastor Quintero helped him to get off drugs, and also found him a job and a place to live.
In closing his research, Diaz believes that Pastor Quintero is well-educated man that truly lives for the Gospel of the Lord and does not personally benefit from the church's finances.
