Pennsylvania DCNR Appoints New Manager at Tobyhanna State Park Complex
HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has named Jennifer Naugle manager of Tobyhanna State Park complex, an area encompassing three state parks and more than 9,500 acres of land in Monroe and Wayne counties.
"Jennifer honed her administrative and public relations skills in recent assignments at one of our more heavily visited state parks and at the Bureau of State Parks' Harrisburg headquarters," said DCNR Secretary Richard Allan . "Her professionalism and enthusiasm can only enhance the public's experience at the three parks she will now oversee."
The Tobyhanna State Park complex includes Tobyhanna State Park and Tobyhanna Lake; Gouldsboro State Park and Gouldsboro Lake; and Big Pocono State Park, which includes a portion of the downhill ski slopes of Camelback Mountain, where facilities are managed by Camelback Mountain Resort.
"I am excited to be joining the park staff of Tobyhanna State Park complex and working in an area I know well, having kayaked and hiked many summer days there over the years," said Naugle. "The staff is welcoming me warmly, and I look forward to working with the team to keep the complex running smoothly."
The new complex manager began her career with the Bureau of State Parks in 1998 as a seasonal environmental education specialist at Promised Land State Park, Pike County. She later was assigned to the bureau's Harrisburg headquarters, working in the program services section. She was most recently employed at Carbon County's Hickory Run State Park Complex, where she was assistant manager since 2010.
Naugle is a native of Palmer Township, Northampton County, and succeeds William Friese , who recently retired. She received a bachelor's degree in environmental science and elementary education teaching certification from East Stroudsburg University.
