Penton Names Andy Friedman Executive Director of Content and User Engagement for Electrical Energy & Mechanical and Manufacturing & Supply Chain Markets New position established to increase daily relevance by focusing content creation, production and optimization on user-centric digital community engagement

CHICAGO, Aug. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Accomplished digital content innovator Andy Friedman has been named Executive Director of Content and User Engagement for Penton's Electrical Energy & Mechanical and Manufacturing & Supply Chain markets.

Friedman brings extensive user-focused digital, mobile and community content management experience to Penton. He has spent more than two decades in senior positions, leading digital transformations and developing content strategies for major media companies including: AOL, Clear Channel and Tribune – where he was responsible for 32 local media businesses throughout the U.S.

Based in Chicago, Friedman will report to Bob MacArthur, Industry Group SVP, and Joe Territo, SVP of content and user engagement. He will lead the Electrical Energy & Mechanical and Manufacturing & Supply Chain market content teams. Friedman will collaborate with sales and marketing managers to create revenue opportunities with leading brands including Industry Week, Transmission & Distribution World, and Electrical Construction & Maintenance – among others.
