NEW YORK, July 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Omnicom Group Inc. (NYSE: OMC) today announced that Peter Sherman, Executive Vice President, will assume Troy Ruhanen's former position and responsibility for driving innovation and cross-agency collaboration for the company's largest clients effective immediately. Earlier this month, Mr. Ruhanen was appointed President and CEO of TBWA Worldwide.

In March, Sherman re-joined Omnicom from JWT, where he served as CEO, North America. In that role, he was responsible for driving the overall strategic direction and creative reputation of the region, while managing client relationships. Prior to joining JWT, Sherman spent over a decade at Omnicom's BBDO. He was EVP, Managing Director, of BBDO Europe where he led 35 BBDO offices in 18 countries across the European region. Before moving to Europe, Sherman was managing director of BBDO West in San Francisco for nearly five years. He had previously worked at BBDO New York for eight years, rising to EVP, Senior Account Director.
