ROSWELL, Ga., Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of announcing its PGA TOUR Superstore opening in Schaumburg, the company announced today that Downers Grove will be the site for the second PGA TOUR Superstore in the Chicago area. The 45,000 square-foot store will be located in the former Rossi Furniture location at Highland Avenue and Butterfield Road. The store will open early summer 2012, following the opening of the Schaumburg store, and be accessible from Interstate 88 at Highland Avenue.
"We are particularly excited about expanding to Chicago, which is one of the premier areas in America for golf enthusiasts," said PGA TOUR Superstore President & CEO Dick Sullivan. "Our goal is to build relationships with our customers by providing a great experience in an inviting environment, and we are happy to have the opportunity to do so in the Chicago community."
The addition of these two stores will increase the number of PGA TOUR Superstores nationwide to 14. The two Chicago stores are the company's first locations in the Midwest. PGA TOUR Superstore currently has three stores in metro Atlanta; two each in Dallas, Myrtle Beach and Phoenix; one in Denver; and two in Florida: Naples and Delray Beach. The stores are owned and operated by Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, Inc., whose controlling owner and chairman is Arthur M. Blank, retired Home Depot co-founder and owner of the Atlanta Falcons.
"Our new customers will quickly see that we are equipped to serve a broad range of golf and tennis players, with an emphasis on offering the industry's best brands, fitting products to each customer's needs, and providing the broadest array of golf and tennis services," Blank noted. "We make it easy to get in, and stay in, the game. We look forward to bringing our store's products, services and expertise to golfers and tennis players in Chicagoland, and to being a positive contributor in the community."
