PGA TOUR Superstore Awards $10,000 to The First Tee Chapters of Chicago and Rockford
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., June 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PGA TOUR Superstore has awarded a $5,000 grant to The First Tee of Greater Chicago and a $5,000 grant to The First Tee of Greater Rockford.
Together, the Chicago and Rockford chapters positively impact the lives of more than 48,000 young people at more than 94 schools and chapter program locations, providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
PGA TOUR Superstore will award the checks on Wednesday, June 13 as part of the store's grand opening in Downers Grove. Young people from the Chicago and Rockford chapters will participate in the event, and the public is invited to attend.
The Downers Grove PGA TOUR Superstore is supporting The First Tee of Greater Chicago. The Schaumburg PGA TOUR Superstore, which opened last month, is supporting The First Tee of Greater Rockford. In addition to grants, PGA TOUR Superstore provides young people with access to state-of-the-art teaching, club fitting and training.
In partnership with The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, PGA TOUR Superstore supports The First Tee chapters reaching young people in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Delray Beach, Denver, Myrtle Beach, Naples and Phoenix. The Foundation's chairman, Arthur M. Blank, is also chairman of Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, the owner and operator of PGA TOUR Superstore. He became a Trustee of The First Tee in January 2012, committing $1 million to the youth development organization through his family foundation.
