ROSWELL, Ga., June 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the opening of its first California Superstore in East Palo Alto this May, and a previously-announced opening of a store in Irvine in November, PGA TOUR Superstore announced today plans to open a third California store, located in Palm Desert, this fall. The 50,000 square foot store will be on the northeast corner of Fred Waring Drive and State Highway 111, in a portion of the former Mervyn's location.
"Golf enthusiasts in the Coachella Valley area will find PGA TOUR Superstore their one-stop shopping destination," said PGA TOUR Superstore President and CEO, Dick Sullivan. "Customers will quickly learn that we pride ourselves in offering the best and most popular brands along with expert advice. Our trained sales associates match the optimal equipment with each player's swing and experience; and, since our associates do not work on commission, customers will never feel pressured."
Palm Desert is PGA TOUR Superstore's 18th retail location. The superstores are owned and operated by Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, Inc., whose controlling owner and chairman is Arthur M. Blank, retired Home Depot co-founder and owner of the Atlanta Falcons.
"We look forward to bringing our store's products, services and expertise to golfers in the Desert, and we will be a positive contributor in the community," Blank said. "Our goal is to establish long-term relationships with our customers through an ultimate shopping experience: a store with knowledgeable sales professionals in a setting that is filled with the best and favorite golf brands."
PGA TOUR Superstore also provides an array of services, including personalized golf lessons; seminars conducted by certified golf professionals using state-of-the-art teaching technologies; golf club and ball fittings; and club repair and re-gripping. The store experience also includes five performance practice bays with swing analysis; eight swing simulators for lessons and club fittings; and a 2,500 square-foot putting green.
PGA TOUR Superstore offers an unrivaled selection of golf equipment along with a broad assortment of apparel, shoes and junior products.
