Phonotonic: Interactive Music Battle, a Smart Object That Turns Movement Into Music
Making music has never been so simple and powerful
PARIS, June 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Have you ever dreamed of playing music? But never learned how?
Or are you a musician, a performer or a dancer, looking for new ways of expressing your creativity?
Interactive Music Battle is a connected object that allows everyone to make music, in a simple, engaging and powerful way. It turns you into a new kind
of musician. Movement! This is all you need!
After two years of development, Phonotonic launches its first product "Interactive Music Battle", a great game that combines two smarts objects and an app. The objects track the way you move, and talk to the app over WiFi. Our cutting edge technologies turn these movements into music in real time. One connected object gives the rhythm, the other one the lead. Just launch the app on a tablet or a smartphone, choose your rhythm and melody, pick up your connected object, and start moving. This is all you need to make music and have fun!
You can remove the motion sensor from the object and put it everywhere you like. Stick it to large or small everyday objects to trigger different movements and music. Put it in your shoes and start dancing: now your body is an instrument! It is a new experience every time. Or you can just use our sleek design objects with a silicon skin. They will perfectly fit in your hand.
Because it is only based on sound and movement, Interactive Music Battle does not use a screen. People can play face to face, in the same space: it brings more conviviality than any musical videogames. It is a game powered by digital technologies, but it is a real life game!
Phonotonic runs thanks to a group of musicians, designers, engineers and researchers, who have been leading extensive research in the world leading lab in music and sound technology, IRCAM - France, looking for new ways to make and perform music for expert musicians. Finding it frustrating to have to spend many years learning an instrument before being able to enjoy making music, they are now excited to bring these musical technologies to a broader audience.
Interactive Music Battle is raising funds through KickStarter for a month.
