BERLIN, Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- "Present developments in the automobile industry such as the founding of TESLA or the diesel scandal in Germany tell a story of rise and fall," explains Neutrino Energy CEO, Holger Thorsten Schubart.

Until even a few weeks ago, it had always been possible for automobile manufacturers to react to crises with a new model, a new design, or with a new marketing strategy. The only thing that was never called into question was the industry's total reliance upon the internal combustion engine. And because this process applied to all manufacturers, the industry as a whole could continue to thrive, while the ensuing losses on the stock market typically remained moderate and short-lived. No one is disputing the honest efforts of the technicians and engineers whose innovative work in the field of research and development has provided us with the advancements that have kept us mobile over the last generations. Intoxicated by ever-increasing sales, no one in the industry was compelled to think about the limits of growth – or a fundamental shift in technology. For this reason, it is now of utmost importance that automobile manufacturers react quickly by completely reassessing their ways of doing things on many different levels. The profound changes taking place at the moment can only be met with a totally new orientation. Halfhearted attempts guided by a desire to cling to the past for as long as possible and to preserve the status quo are insufficient, even though this approach appears to have worked well enough up until now.

At the moment our society is witnessing a radical paradigm shift in the automobile industry. This is of no small significance, as it affects people in a variety of ways, and the present developments have only been further intensified by the diesel scandal. There is no reason to expect that automobiles will disappear from our future, but the product itself, as well as the means and methods of producing it, are certain to change dramatically. For many of those in charge, the intensity of the changes taking place is unexpected, overwhelming and completely incomprehensible. If, however, the challenges now facing the automobile industry in Germany are not met quickly and effectively, they will no doubt have devastating consequences for the German workforce and Germany's role as a leading manufacturer of automobiles. The subject is discussed by the press on a daily basis.

At the present, it is difficult to predict when the technological requirements necessary to provide electric mobility on a large scale will finally be met, but it is safe to assume that the internal combustion engine will continue to coexist with electrically powered vehicles for the time being. Nevertheless, a transition is inevitable, and it will take place much more quickly than many believe. The governments of Europe have already begun to legislate in this area, although to varying degrees, and a time will certainly come when conventionally fueled vehicles will have disappeared from European roadways. The end of the internal combustion engine will not, however, mark the end of mobility.

Technological progress has its advocates, and to the proud ranks of those who are thinking their way into the future belong the people from the Neutrino Energy Group. Their goal is to create and combine innovative applications using the unstoppable power of pure thought.

That even the traditionalists among the automobile manufacturers have no choice but to embrace change was made clear at the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) when Daimler Benz stopped using piston rings. Now this company even takes part in the electrical sports car competition, "Formula E." We at the Neutrino Energy Group also believe that the future of mobility is electric, and countless experiments have enabled us to develop revolutionary new technology.

Our ultimate goal is to make power modules available that can provide electricity for all possible uses. We've chosen the brand name "Pi" (π), because of its connection in mathematics to the circle: A circle itself has no end and the value that π represents also has no end. For us, Pi stands for the endlessness of energy, and that is the guiding principle of the Neutrino Energy Group.

Electrical devices marketed under the "Pi" brand such as cell phones, televisions, laptops and automobiles won't require a charging cable, because they will have an internal power converter that makes use of light (photovoltaic) or other cosmic rays (e.g. neutrinos). Like Pi, this energy is endless.

And now there's a new brand of German automobiles as well: vehicles of the future from Pi. Electric mobility, "Made in Germany".

Design studies for the first release from Pi's automotive division (the Pi1) are presently underway. Focus is being placed on the precisely defined goal of developing a vehicle that is uninhibited by charging stations and range restrictions thanks to the implementation of radically new technology. If it proves to be the case that the use of batteries is, in fact, necessary in the initial stages, this will only be for the purpose of bridging the gap during short periods of extremely high power consumption or for the storage of surplus energy.

In order to save jobs and effectively utilize the capacity of idle production facilities belonging to established members of the German automobile industry, the electrically powered vehicles from Pi will be manufactured exclusively in Germany. Precedence will be given to those companies who are in a position to meet our high expectations, and we have already conducted negotiations with potential candidates.

Germany furthermore possesses a highly qualified work force of engineers and technicians with great potential for innovation. Only by effectively tapping the potential of these skilled workers we will be able to master the challenges facing us. Creativity, confidence and motivation are necessary. Each and every person in the automobile industry must take a more active role in shaping the future in his or her own way. Much is possible in this country, and we shouldn't let doubt and cynicism get in the way. The paradigm shift ahead presents us with enormous opportunities, and for this reason, we must embrace change. The German government is in a position to aid in the process by setting parameters conducive to growth and progress.

Progress, however, is not an end in itself: Supplying energy, water, food and education to an ever-increasing global population is the challenge of our times. Meeting this challenge will require intelligent, unorthodox approaches and can only occur in stages.

Of course, new ways of thinking must pay for themselves, and they will pay for themselves. New technology has undeniable potential for growth and development, and the stock market will reward this potential for a better tomorrow much more generously than the achievements of yesterday. This is now especially true in the automobile industry where processes of transformation are taking place at an astonishing rate. It's a totally new game, and Pi's automotive sector is ready to take the lead.
