Pittsburgh's First All-Electric High-Speed Indoor Go-Kart Track Set to Open in Spring 2016
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Steel City Indoor Karting, Pittsburgh's first all-electric indoor go-kart track, will be opening spring 2016. The 64,000+ sq. /ft. climate-controlled facility is located at 360 Mall Circle Drive (old Dick's Sporting Goods location) within the Monroeville Mall complex across from the Cinemark movie theater.
The Grand Prix styled course will utilize the most advanced high-performance race-bred European electric karts which are capable of speeds in excess of 50mph. For our junior drivers (52" minimum), the karts will be electronically tuned to 25mph to ensure an easier controlled driving experience.
Steel City Indoor Karting offers the popular "Arrive & Drive" race format. Racers are assigned to one of the upcoming races, so reservations are not required. Up to 12 drivers will compete in each race to set the fastest lap times for that given race.
The facility will also be available for corporate rentals and parties. In addition to the track, the facility will feature a race theme, snack bar, pool tables, air hockey, video games and over 3,500 sq. /ft. of conference room space equipped with all of the technology needed to support your events.
If you are new to racing, rest assured, because all drivers will go through a safety briefing prior to the race and our friendly staff will be available teach you some basic racing techniques to help you to feel confident and to be competitive during your first race.
