RENO, Nevada, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As the Siena Hotel Spa Casino undertakes its conversion to a full-service, non-gaming Renaissance Hotel, it faces the challenge of selling furnishings and equipment that will no longer be needed. For that, the owners have retained Thomas Hayward Auctioneers to sell the contents, starting with furniture and other items from the hotel's warehouse.
The first two in a planned series of auctions -- which will include both online and live bidding -- are set for Saturday, Nov. 14, and Monday, Nov. 16 at the Siena. The items will be available for inspection beginning Friday, Nov. 13, at the hotel's Reno warehouse.
"We're selling everything you would expect to find in a hotel, and a lot of things you wouldn't even imagine," said Hayward. "A lot of the furniture is brand new. We'll also be selling many items from the restaurant, which will be of interest to anyone operating a food service, including schools or churches. Some of those items will include espresso machines, commercial stoves, glassware, dishware, chairs, booths and barstools."
Other items will include a baby grand piano, rolls of new carpeting, pallets of floor tiles, Christmas decorations, decorative wall hangings and artwork and patio furniture.
"The Siena was furnished with a lot of high-quality furniture and equipment, but Renaissance has its own branding. I expect we'll see a lot of bidders who are starting new businesses or upgrading existing ones," said Fernando Leal, managing partner of the new property, which is now owned by HMRN LLC.
