CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y., March 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Veterans Administration now has access to the most comprehensive colorectal cancer screening tools available in the United States today. Polymedco, U.S. distributor for OC-Light® S FIT manual fecal immunochemical test and Epi proColon® molecular blood test for colorectal cancer screening, has been awarded a 5 year contract commencing March 1, 2017 for these items. This is in addition to the existing contract for Polymedco's OC-Auto® automated FIT system, which is currently in place in over 100 VA facilities nationwide.
Polymedco's FIT is recommended as a first screen by the United States Preventive Services Task Force and Epi proColon® is FDA approved for colorectal cancer screening for people who are unwilling or unable to be screened by recommended methods.
"We are excited to continue our relationship with the Veterans Administration and pleased to be able to offer them our complete offering of colorectal cancer screening tools," stated Polymedco president Drew Cervasio.
