Pompeian Olive Oil to be featured on The SUZANNE Show this week on Lifetime Television

Blended and bottled in Baltimore, Pompeian Olive Oil is one of the many ingredients that have helped transform the lives of underprivileged elementary school kids in the city.  It's all part of a program called BUGS (Baltimore Urban Gardening with Students), which creates an opportunity for kids to grow real food and transform it into delicious dishes.

"A lot of these kids think that food comes out of a plastic bag," says local restaurateur Jerry Pellegrino, who works with the BUGS students.  "So this program benefits them in a way where they start to eat more healthy food and they also take home recipes and end up cooking them with their families."

Under Pellegrino's tutelage, BUGS kids create masterpieces like home-made broccoli pizza and garden salad directly from plants they cultivated themselves.  Pompeian Olive Oil is not only an integral part of the program, but also a staple in Pellegrino's own kitchen at his highly acclaimed restaurant Waterfront Kitchen.

"I love working with these kids," says Pellegrino.  "For me it's important to educate our youth about eating healthy and getting involved in the kitchen."
