Portland International Airport Joins the PASSUR National Field Condition Report Network
STAMFORD, Conn., July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PASSUR Aerospace, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PSSR) announced today that Portland International Airport (PDX) has contracted for the PASSUR® Field Condition Report (FCR) to improve the completeness, timeliness, and distribution of its field condition reports and related information, in order to achieve enhanced operational efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness for airport users.
PDX becomes the 14th airport to join the PASSUR National FCR Network, which consolidates airport conditions -- including NOTAM and critical non-NOTAM information -- for all participating airports onto a single screen, provides new levels of automation, and is available to airline system operation centers in the U.S. and internationally as a standardized airport reporting platform.
The automation and standardization of vital information on the PASSUR FCR Network helps airports better serve their airline, cargo, and general aviation partners, as well as airfield service providers and passengers.
"We are thrilled to have PDX join the PASSUR national FCR network, which we believe is a game changer for our industry," said Jim Barry, President and CEO of PASSUR Aerospace. "Creating industry-standard information templates, built on integration of data and smart display of content, can only help increase efficiencies for all users."
The PASSUR Airport Operations Program
Airports are being asked to provide more cost effective, efficient, and safe airfield operations for carriers, to help them achieve greater throughput, quicker turns and fewer ground delays -- critical elements of airline profitability in today's challenging environment. Airports also want to consolidate airfield management functions onto a single platform to minimize staff requirements. The PASSUR Airport Operations Program provides airport ramp tower, operations, and communication centers the alerts, decision support, planning and analysis tools they need to run a more efficient and safe operation, and the Web platform for cost effective communication, coordination, and collaboration with all the airport's key constituencies. It includes modules for field condition reporting/eNOTAM integration, live dashboards of key operations metrics, flight and airspace visualization, and "long onboard" ground delay management (Tarmac Delay Monitor™).
