Posiba, Inc. announces new Managing Director for Vietnam subsidiary with East-West business expertise
SAN DIEGO, July 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Posiba, Inc., a software company designed to support the social sector, welcomes Mr. Hien "Calvin" Nguyen as the new Managing Director of Posiba Vietnam Limited Company (Posiba Vietnam), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Posiba, Inc.—a software company with core products—Datas (www.datas.global), a data service designed to measure social conditions and progress and givn (https://givn.social/ and www.givn.company), a giving service designed to activate more philanthropic giving and satisfaction.
Nguyen, a Vietnamese born North American who three years ago resettled in Vietnam, will be directing the growth of Posiba Vietnam and managing a team of software engineers, data engineers, analytic scientists and marketing technical operations. His experience in both the East and West enables him to bridge the Company's U.S. and Vietnam operations.
Nguyen was born in Da Nang, Vietnam and moved to Canada in 1984 with his family where he earned Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton Canada and Master's Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, Washington D.C. He has 18+ years of experience in the technology and software industry, serving in various roles including, project manager and management consultant for large corporations in Canada.
Prior to joining Posiba Vietnam, Nguyen was the Chief Operations Officer of a software outsourcing company with offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City where he grew the organization from approximately 80 employees to more than 200 through empowerment, operational excellence and initiatives to improve employee wellbeing and motivation.
His personal interests over the last 20 years include karate, philanthropy and affecting positive change in the world. He was involved with Scouts Canada for over 15 years where he was a Scouts Leader for five years; instrumental in developing 35 acres of land and directing the construction of a meditation center for the Edmonton Buddhist Institute, and served as Vice President of Information Systems for AIESEC, an international non-governmental not-for-profit organization providing leadership development and cross-cultural global exchanges across the globe, with a focus to empower young people to make a positive impact on society.
