Practical Plans Makes it Easy for Young Parents to Do Their Estate Planning
IRVINE, Calif., May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A year ago, Practical Plans launched its interactive estate planning website designed for young parents. As the site celebrates its one-year anniversary, the company announces that it will add educational video content to make the experience even more client friendly.
"Parents with young children know they should do their estate planning, but it isn't an easy thing to do," co-founding attorney Mark Powell explains. "Most lawyers want you to come to their office on a week day between 9:00 and 5:00. That often stops the process in its tracks because it's hard to coordinate two or three work schedules with a child's feeding and sleep schedules. Even if you find a couple hours that work on everyone's calendars, there's always the question of what to do with the kids. The attorney may tell you that you're welcome to bring them to the meeting, but I've met very few parents who like the idea of trying to settle a crying baby or keep a toddler occupied while sitting with an attorney whose hourly clock is ticking."
The Practical Plans website is designed so parents can learn about estate planning issues at their own pace and use the site's interactive guide in the comfort of their own homes and at any time of day to design a common sense estate plan. Practical Plans estate plans cost a fraction of the price of traditional face-to-face meetings with an attorney. Co-founding attorney Curtis Kaiser notes that, "Even though the process works over the web, Practical Plans clients are not alone in the planning process. Experienced estate planning attorneys answer questions through the site, and every estate plan is reviewed by an estate planning attorney."
The new video content will help clients better understand estate planning issues. The new content should be available this summer.
