NEW CANAAN, Conn., Jan. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, PRAI Beauty and their Global Creative Director and famed fashion photographer Nigel Barker, launch a quest in partnership with entertainment and lifestyle retailer, HSN, to discover a woman who is "not just a pretty face" to represent the luxury skincare company and its culture that believes doing good is just as important as looking and feeling good.
PRAI Beauty's CEO and Founder Cathy Kangas says the beauty industry typically features 20-year-old models, PRAI Beauty has been different from the start of the company – always featuring real women. "We're about making all women look and feel beautiful," she explains. "We're launching a nationwide search for a woman who is 40 and older and who embraces the concept of giving back to her community …someone with true beauty from the inside out. At PRAI Beauty, we believe that doing good is just as important as looking and feeling good, so we donate a portion of proceeds and our time to animal charities around the world."
This nationwide search is being led by the contest's judges featuring PRAI Beauty's CEO Cathy Kangas, famed fashion photographer and PRAI Beauty Global Creative Director Nigel Barker and HSN Host Amy Morrison. This judges' panel will select three finalists from entrants after close of search on March 1, 2017, which will then be posted on the PRAI Beauty Facebook page for voting March 6-10, 2017. The winner will be announced on-air at HSN on or around March 16th and then will appear as the new face of PRAI Beauty on a show in April.
Barker, who came aboard with PRAI Beauty in October, was attracted to the company and its brand messages. "I have known Cathy for over a decade through our shared passion for animals, beauty and fashion and I appreciate the company's positive message around real aging and products for real women," he describes. "I capture the beauty of women through my camera lens and I have always encouraged them to stand tall because confidence is beautiful at every age. The winner will receive a grand prize package that includes a live on-air appearance and exclusive behind-the-scenes experience at HSN and dinner with Nigel Barker and Cathy Kangas. To support PRAI Beauty's passion for giving back, the company will donate $500 to the charity of the winner's choice. Roundtrip airfare and accommodations for two to Tampa, Florida (where HSN is headquartered) are also included for the search winner as well as one year's worth of PRAI Beauty products. Two runner ups will receive $250 worth of the brand's products.
HOW TO ENTER: To enter, submit two photographs of yourself (headshot and profile photo) and answer the following question in 200 words or fewer, in English, "At PRAI Beauty, we are 'not just a pretty face.'
