NEW YORK, Feb. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Regional Mortgage Bankers Association is pleased to announce that it has chosen 32 year real estate veteran and award winning developer William "Billy" Procida to give the keynote speech at the 31st Annual Regional Conference of the Mortgage Bankers Associations taking place at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, March 9th-11th. Procida's keynote will be given at the Commercial Property portion of the conference on March 10th from 12:30 – 2:00pm.
Procida, CEO of Procida Funding & Advisors, LLC and Fund Manager to the 100 Mile Fund, will discuss his widely published article, "How the Real Estate Industry Can Save America," as well as share his economic outlook for 2014. "We are delighted to have Mr. Procida give the keynote speech this year. As prominent leader in the real estate market for over 30 years, his views on fixing America is just what this industry needs, and he's done it before," said, Bob Levy, President of the Mortgage Bankers Association.
"The biggest challenge our country faces is the budget deficit which is caused by entitlement programs which is a result of the lack of jobs and the deterioration of real estate in the inner cities. It's simple, bad neighborhoods cost a lot and produce little revenue while good neighborhoods produce revenue and cost less. We need to fix our inner cities. Government can't do it, but the real estate industry can. It all starts with the bankers! I hope to share my vision and what I learned redeveloping the South Bronx and Harlem in the 80's and 90's," said William Procida.
In addition to being a media commentator with frequent appearances on CNBC and Fox Business, Mr. Procida was recipient of the New York City "Developer of the Year Award" and National Association of Home Builders "Pillar of the Industry Award." He has been a nationally ranked general contractor and homebuilder and for the past 15 years he has specialized in financing other developers. He has lectured on business and real estate at venues such as Yale University, Columbia University and New York University. He has also authored over 50 articles on the subject of real estate development, finance and the economy.
