Judicial Injunction on Obama Immigration Order Can Still Mean Many Are Helped
Gordon Quan
Immigration Lawyer
Quan Law Group, PLLC in Houston
Quan is a nationally recognized, 30-year immigration lawyer. He has known and respected Judge Hanen for more than 15 years and can comment about the judicial action in the Obama immigration executive order. Says Quan: "While the judge granted a temporary injunction, this is only to allow more time for the information to be reviewed. He has not found the president's actions unconstitutional. I remain hopeful that the judge will allow the orders to proceed since so many lives are affected by those orders."

Impact of Presidential Election Delay on Nigerian People
James T. Gire
Professor of Psychology
Virginia Military Institute
Gire is available to discuss the struggle of the Nigerian people as they await a now-delayed presidential election amid violence and corruption: "The Nigerian people are understandably disappointed and upset about the postponement of the elections. The regular Nigerian is one of the most optimistic persons out there. They have ambitions for education, for raising families, for having their children, as well as themselves, be successful. Even in the hotbed areas of Boko Haram, people are still going about their business and trying to make ends meet, which is why the forthcoming elections are viewed as being very important. The general sentiment is that President Jonathan postponed the election because he knew he would have lost and is trying to find a way to circumvent the system, be it through the use of the state of emergency clause or something else. It is believed that if the insecurity is taken care of and there is a reduction in corruption, then there is just this potential that will be unleashed out there."
Now a U.S. citizen, Dr. Gire was born and raised in Nigeria. He is a visiting professor at Benue State University in Nigeria and has published on both corruption and conflict resolution there. He is a deputy editor of the African Journal of Drug and Alcohol Studies. He is fluent in three African languages and is based in Lexington, Va. He recently participated in a dialogue with Dr. James Hentz, professor of international studies at Virginia Military Institute, on the dynamics of the presidential election, violence and environmental disaster in the Niger Delta, and spread of violence of Boko Haram in Nigeria and neighboring Niger and Cameroon. Cyber Breaches Unabated Until Private Sector, States Pursue Real-Time Response Capability
Sandor Boyson
Research Professor, Supply Chain Management
University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business
"The Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center signals the federal government recognizes the need to sense and respond to cyber threats on all fronts. But it's crucial for private industry leaders – in addition to state legislators – to pursue a similar real-time response capability. The problem will remain unabated until the states and private sector are forced by federal legislation, legal liabilities, or brand destruction to build out collective and individual threat response, as well as sensible proactive preventative measures. Such measures include keeping valuable intellectual property or system command-and-control mechanisms only on hardened networks or offline entirely to avoid 'wiperware.'"
Boyson codirects UMD's Center for Supply Chain Management and is an appointee to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce's Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness.
