Stephanie Davis

For the past 20 years, she and her firm of employment attorneys have trained thousands of companies and employees and investigated cases on all legal aspects of creating respectful workplaces. Studs, Sneaks, and Sexual Harassment
Ken Cooper
Sexual Harassment Prevention Trainer
CooperComm, Inc.
"You have to create a peer culture that is adamantly anti sexual harassment. Everyone needs to view sexual harassment as the 'loser behavior' that it is. Normal people seeking healthy relationships don't need to resort to harassment. Properly educating personnel on anti-harassment concepts and tools, showing them how to communicate incidents, and instituting the right processes will equip everyone not to tolerate this behavior, and ultimately to prevent it."
Cooper is president and founder of CooperComm, Inc., a consulting firm with extensive experience providing sexual harassment prevention training to a wide range of private- and public-sector organizations. A body language expert, Cooper has authored several books, including "Stop It Now: How Targets & Managers Can End Sexual Harassment" and "BodyBusiness: The Sender's and Receiver's Guide to Nonverbal Communication." He earned his master's degree at the University of Missouri, Columbia and is also a graduate of the IBM/Harvard Advanced Business Institute. A longtime sexual harassment researcher, speaker and prevention consultant, Cooper has conducted hundreds of seminars for tens of thousands of attendees, sharing his unique research-based tools for preventing harassment, changing behavior, and maximizing workplace productivity.

Mindfulness at Work: Navigating Change
Laurie Cameron
Founder and CEO
PurposeBlue
"Challenging situations are a part of being human and a seemingly never-ending part of the work environment and our society at large. Mindfulness cannot erase or prevent difficult situations altogether. But building your capacity for mindfulness means being able to notice, accept and allow the messiness without arguing, fighting or wishing it away. If you can open up to the difficulty as a fundamental part of life and realize that it's okay, you can explore it with less resistance and, therefore, less suffering."
Cameron, a mindful leadership expert, is the author of "The Mindful Day: Practical Ways to Find Focus, Calm, and Joy From Morning to Evening" (March 27, 2018). She is founder and CEO of PurposeBlue, an organization that brings evidence-based mindful leadership programs to companies, change makers, culture-shifters, universities and federal agencies.

Should Celebrities and CEOs Tout Their Political Viewpoints?
Ryan McCormick
Co-founder
Goldman McCormick Public Relations
McCormick, a reputation management specialist, is available for interviews on whether celebrities and CEOs should tout their political viewpoints: "Unless your targeted audience or customer based is endeared to particular set of political vales, there's no reason ever to publicly tout your political perspectives. In the short term, you may experience a feel-good ego trip as one or more individuals praise you for expressing values similar to theirs. However, in the long term, you stand to permanently lose business and fans. Whether you're an actor or business owner, your number one goal should be to provide excellent service and value to your fans/customers. Unnecessarily evoking a negative emotional reaction from people by pushing your political values may drive them into the arms of a competitor, even if you are the superior service provider. There are some effective ways for celebrities and CEOs to make a substantial impact towards the political causes they believe in without tweeting up a storm. The first step is to maximize your prestige and power by providing excellent service to as many people as possible. Appealing to all should have a positive impact on your bottom line, which will allow you to write bigger checks to individuals, political parties, and causes you support. We recommend doing this quietly. The second step is to simply carry yourself with kindness, honor, and integrity. If you have political passions and you're not pushing them on others, you might be surprised at how many more people may give your ideals a second look because of how you conduct yourself. The bottom line is that celebrities and businesses are better off not publicly touting their political perspectives. Sharing them among close-knit family, friends, and likeminded associates is a much better and more appropriate platform."

Sureties Play a Vital Role in Infrastructure Projects
Lynn M. Schubert
President
The Surety & Fidelity Association of America
"Infrastructure projects are vital to the economy. Successful projects benefit taxpayers, businesses and workers. Surety bonds are a key component to infrastructure success. Construction is risky. Between 2014 and 2016, almost a third of construction contractors went out of business. Where surety bonds were in place, taxpayers and workers on projects of these failed contractors were protected by a guarantee that the contract would be completed and workers paid. Other contractors avoided being part of that statistic because of the backing of a surety company. Whether providing assistance to contractors to keep them viable, or stepping in to complete infrastructure contracts, sureties provide unequaled protection. No conversation on infrastructure is complete without a discussion about surety bonds."
Based in Washington, D.C., Schubert is an expert on the subjects of surety and fidelity bonds, antitrust, procurement, risk management, infrastructure, construction, and diversity and inclusion. She has lectured and educated throughout the country for universities and groups such as NIGP, the Governing Institute, Underground Construction conference, American Bar Association, America Bankers Association, and many more.

Private Equity Firm Employment
Scott Hsu
Assistant Professor, Sam M. Walton College of Business
University of Arkansas
Hsu and his colleague at Purdue University found that some private equity firms, despite their reputation as job destroyers, increased employment following a buyout. Most of these firms had political connections, and the jobs they created or retained after buyouts were concentrated during election years in swing states or states that the researchers identified as having "high corruption." Says Hsu: "The general perception of private equity firms is they slash and burn after a buyout. But we found the opposite for those firms with political connections. These firms, on average, actually created more jobs after buyouts, or at least eliminated fewer jobs, than firms with no political connections. When we dug a little deeper, we discovered that, on average, these firms tended to increase employment in election years, especially in states with greater corruption."

TPP11 Trade Pact, Trump Administration Tariffs
Raj Bhala
Brenneisen Distinguished Professor
University of Kansas
Bhala can discuss the new TPP11 trade pact and the Trump administration's tariffs on washing machines and solar panels, as well as related issues. Says Bhala: "America leaves itself behind, both on economic and national security issues, by staying out of TPP. That the other 11 countries are willing to go forward on this comprehensive free trade agreement indicates they lack faith in, or do not need, America's leadership on these issues, and are willing to rebuke openly the trade policies of the Trump administration."
Bhala is the author of "TPP Objectively: Law, Economics and National Security of History's Largest, Longest Free Trade Agreement," the textbook "Modern GATT Law" and "International Trade Law."

Blockchain Technology Can Reshape Healthcare
Khalid (Ken) Parekh
Chairman and CEO
AMSYS Group
The healthcare industry is decades behind and inefficient when it comes to technology. Witness the annual, manual processing of more than 3 billion transactions. Enter the hottest buzz going: blockchain technology. Parekh believes blockchain can reshape healthcare the way transistors revolutionized electronics: "Blockchain technology is the healthcare industry's Rosetta Stone to decode and solve infuriating problems inherent in an industry, technology-wise, still in the '70s: Wrong, non-portable medical records; patient information security breaches; unnecessary redundancy of multiple forms when seeing multiple providers; continuously out-of-date information on medications, diagnostics and procedures."
Parekh is chairman and CEO of AMSYS, an international group that invests in six principal verticals, backed by a seasoned team with decades of respective experience in each field.

The New Generation of NFL Football Helmet Technology
Tobin Arthur
Founder and CEO
AngelMD
The multi-billion-dollar world of football -- from Pop Warner to high school to college to the NFL -- is reeling from traumatic brain injuries. As science reveals the extent of concussions and their cumulative, long-term damage, the game -- and business -- of football is in danger. Says Arthur: "Only 1 out of 20 medical technology startups will receive enough funding to escape the 'valley of death,' the time between an idea's initial investment and the creation of a commercially viable product. Investment and startup activity in medical technology is in a precipitous decline, putting future medical technology innovations in grave jeopardy. I'm fighting to give promising, but long-shot, medical technologies a chance to see the light of day."
Arthur is available to discuss concussions, brain injury and the new generation of NFL football helmet technology. He is founder and CEO of AngelMD, a health care investment marketplace connecting the largest network of medical startups in the world with physicians, investors, and industry with the goal of creating successful outcomes. From efficient capital to our platform, AngelMD's vision is to help innovative companies impact the future of health care.
