Project Pinball Charity Group. Inc. Delivers Healing Fun to 5 Children's Hospitals Nationwide
Charity will travel 9,000 miles deliver pinball to 5 US Children's Hospitals
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Project Pinball Charity, with the support of Stern Pinball, Inc. and Marco Specialties, is proud to announce their "Share the Love" Nationwide event. July 5 to August 5, founder, Daniel Spolar, will travel over 9,000 miles covering 26 states to dedicate pinball machines in 5 children's hospitals across the nation.
"We assist in enriching children's lives through active play and diversion from "hospital life". This allows our smallest patients the opportunity to focus on something other than medical tests, medications, and procedures" says Daniel Spolar, the charity's founder and Senior Director.
Headquartered in Bonita Springs, Florida, Project Pinball Charity, a nonprofit 501(c)3, has been maintaining and donating machines for use in Children's Hospitals since 2011 and has since become a nationwide organization with pinball machines in hospitals across the U.S.A.
Mr. Spolar is scheduled to deliver machines to children's hospitals in Boston, San Francisco, Denver, Omaha, and Columbus OH, as well as attend several fund raisers and social gatherings, participate in podcasts across the US, and three-pinball expo's where he will work to continue raising awareness for the charity's efforts.
"We're thankful for the opportunity to team up with Project Pinball Charity again and support Mr. Spolar on his nationwide pinball dedication," said Gary Stern, Chairman and CEO of Stern Pinball. "We're looking forward to sharing our love for pinball with patients and uplifting their hospital experience."
Jamie Whipple, Child Life Specialist at Advocate Hope Children's Hospital has this to say about their newly placed machine, "Not only does it provide an escape - even if just momentarily - from the severity of the medical environment, but it also fosters bonding between parent and child when played together. From a child life specialist stand point, I might recommend a kiddo to go check it out to help motivate them to ambulate or get out of the room for a change of environment. It is a good ploy for convincing our school-age children to check out the playroom!"
Partnering with Project Pinball Charity Group is a win-win for hospitals and patients. These machines are serviced, maintained, and kept in top working order by Project Pinball volunteers, allowing the hospital to provide therapeutic relief to their patients with no cost to the hospital or those patients.
