Prominent Commercial Litigator Mahra C. Sarofsky Joins McGlinchey Stafford in Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- McGlinchey Stafford PLLC announced today that Mahra C. Sarofsky has joined its Fort Lauderdale office and Commercial Litigation practice as Of Counsel.
Sarofsky's practice includes the representation of clients in the areas of real estate litigation, bankruptcy litigation, title claims resolution, and various creditors' rights issues in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
She currently represents companies in complex commercial and contested residential mortgage foreclosure actions throughout the state of Florida. She has defended financial institutions in consumer actions, including actions and claims asserting violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act (FCCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and the Truth in Lending Act (TILA). Sarofsky has also litigated commercial contract actions on behalf of lenders and servicers against title insurers and originating lenders, secured transactions on behalf of financial institutions, and Condominium/Homeowners' association disputes. Sarofsky has previous in-house experience at a major financial services company with national headquarters in Florida.

Sarofsky received her J.D. from the Hofstra University School of Law in 2005. During law school, she served as Research Editor of the Hofstra Labor and Employment Law Journal, and claimed the top prize in the New York State Bar Association 2003–2004 Stein Memorial Writing Competition. Sarofsky received her B.B.A. in Business Management, summa cum laude, from Hofstra University in 2002.
McGlinchey Stafford continues to expand in Florida since opening its first office in the state in 2010. The firm has grown to 28 attorneys in the state, with 16 attorneys in its Fort Lauderdale office and 12 attorneys in its Jacksonville office.
