Promotion Moves Bohac into General Manager Role

MERRILLVILLE, Ind., Sept. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- David Bohac, an industry veteran with more than 15 years in the hospitality field, has been promoted to General Manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott located near the Arboretum shopping and dining area in Austin, Texas.  Until his promotion, Bohac spent the previous year as the Sales Manager at the same property.

"David has been with White Lodging for the past six years," commented Regional Vice President Kevin Grandin. "He has come up through the ranks and is fully prepared to take on this new role.

After graduating from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of science degree in restaurant, hotel and institutional management, Bohac's first position with White Lodging was as the Assistant Front Desk Manager at the Austin Airport Marriott South.  In March 2007, he became that hotel's Restaurant Manager, and he and his team were acknowledged by the corporate office as the Most Improved Food & Beverage Team for 2008.

Moving on, Bohac became the Services Operations Manager at the Courtyard by Marriott located just minutes from the University of Texas at Austin campus. Here he was responsible for the daily operations of the front desk and the hotel's restaurant.  While at this property, Bohac has the opportunity to participate in a task force which allowed him to experience the General Manager role at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott at the San Antonio Airport. He was also nominated for Operations Manager of the year in 2009.

Prior to moving into his new position as the General Manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott Austin-Arboretum, Bohac worked diligently to exceed budgeted sales revenues in his role as Sales Manager and also was effective in building solid client relationships.

Now that he is at the helm of the property, Bohac says he hopes to utilize his skills and experience to move guest services scores and top-line sales goals to new heights.
