WASHINGTON, March 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A leading expert in risk management for government contractors is joining Lockton's Washington, DC operation. Jeff Purdy has been named leader of the Government Contracting Practice there, effective March 1. Lockton is the world's largest privately held, independent insurance broker.
Purdy will help government contractors identify and reduce key risks, develop risk management strategies, structure insurance and risk finance programs, and lead client engagements.
Purdy is a leading figure in the risk management community with more than 25 years in corporate risk management and insurance, primarily working with government contractors. He has also had significant involvement in more than 50 US and global acquisitions.

Most recently Purdy was Director of Risk Management at Computer Sciences Corporation, a Fortune 250 firm. He was deeply involved with CSC's transformation and the spinoff of its NPS business and merger with SRA International. He served 10 years at BAE Systems, Inc. and three years at COMSAT Corporation as Director, Risk Management and Investments for both firms. He started his risk management career with Willis as an outsourced risk manager for one of the nation's largest commercial construction firms in Bethesda, MD.
Purdy is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in political science and The George Washington University with a master's degree in accountancy. He passed the CPA exam in 1986.
