"Jeremy is a proven industry leader with two decades of strategic, financial analysis, and business planning experience. His leadership is a key asset to our power and utilities clients that are considering or in the process of a deal," said David Etheridge, PwC's US Power & Utilities Leader.
"We would also like to thank John for his leadership and his many contributions to our power and utilities clients. John's tremendous track record and commitment to developing the next generation of leaders like Jeremy has been critical to our success," added Etheridge.
Fago focuses primarily on valuation and finance in the merchant energy, regulated utility and biofuels industries. His experience includes business and financial diligence, corporate and project valuation, corporate and project finance and debt restructuring, M&A, cash flow and earnings forecasting, capital markets research and analysis, and financial modeling.
"The U.S. power and utilities industry is facing considerable challenges including environmental compliance pressures, load growth considerations and the low price of natural gas − all of which are likely to spur significant M&A opportunities in the future," said Fago. "PwC has deep experience and capabilities in the deals space, and I look forward to leading the Power & Utilities Deals team in helping our clients navigate the deal process, from strategy to execution to capturing value post deal."
Before joining PwC in 2010, Fago was a Member of Management and head of the Energy Capital Markets practice for a global consulting firm, where he led and managed the practice in the delivery of insight driven industry and financial advice to its clients. Prior to that, he served as CFO and VP of Administration for an energy software and consulting company, where he helped lead the restructuring and sale of the company. Fago also served as Senior Financial Analyst with a global energy production, transmission and distribution company, responsible for providing analyses and support during mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, project and corporate financing and corporate financial planning.
Fago holds a B.A. in business administration, with an emphasis in accounting, from Hastings College in Nebraska. In addition to his client work, Fago is a frequent speaker at key power and utilities industry events. He is based in San Francisco.
