Q-Centrix Chosen By Premier, Inc. To Offer Bundled Quality Data Abstraction Services
PORTSMOUTH, N.H., Feb. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Q-Centrix, the leading data abstraction services provider in healthcare, has been chosen by Premier, Inc., a leading healthcare improvement company uniting an alliance of approximately 3,400 U.S. hospitals and 110,000 other providers, to further improve the quality of healthcare delivery. The partnership allows Premier to bundle Q-Centrix data abstraction services with its quality improvement analytics in PremierConnect®, Premier's integrated technology platform. This will allow Premier alliance members to outsource their regulatory data collection processes.
"Using the right resources to abstract accurate clinical data is critical to understanding quality measures," explained Keith J. Figlioli, senior vice president, healthcare informatics, Premier. "This partnership with Q-Centrix can help providers achieve their quality goals more efficiently and effectively, so they can focus on improving patient care."
The real-time and retrospective quality data abstraction services provided by Q-Centrix range from national and local registries to voluntary and required core measures. The process begins by assigning a team of Q-Centrix nurse-educated, quality information specialists. Once assigned, the team accesses key patient charts to document and validate distinct actions and outcomes by hospital staff. The validated measures and data are reviewed by the hospital and then reported to organizations and agencies throughout the country.
Q-Centrix, which was a clear front-runner in the selection process, signed the agreement with Premier on November 24, 2014. More than 97 percent of hospitals* that outsource their quality data abstraction services select Q-Centrix. The organization has the industry's largest and broadest team of nurse-educated, quality information specialists. Conducting in excess of a million quality data abstractions annually, Q-Centrix has become the preferred quality partner to hundreds of hospitals; providing active surveillance, abstraction, analysis and quality improvement services.
"We're excited to have been chosen by Premier," said Q-Centrix CEO, Milton Silva-Craig. "The selection validates our business. We're fully-committed to and aligned with Premier's vision to improve the overall quality of patient care."
More than 30 Premier members already partner with Q-Centrix. Among them, The Medical Center at Bowling Green, a not-for-profit hospital providing services to South-Central Kentucky, has found the combination to be very effective.
"We've been very successful in using the Q-Centrix team to abstract measures within the Premier tool. The additional resources have allowed our internal team to focus on improving the quality of care we offer at Bowling Green," said Brian Lowery, director of quality and performance excellence.
This is the first partnership between Q-Centrix and Premier. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
